Cried with Cha when she talked about her dad. All her life, she was missing him and then the unexpected happened weeks after this interview... anybody else would have been crushed by the fact of never seeing happen the family reconciliation she must have been yearning for.
But Charice is incredibly brave. I guess it's the faith and love in her heart that keep her up and let her always see the beauty in her life and in the world.
She is an incredibly loving daughter. Who else would have thought of dedicating the song "You Are So Beautiful" to a dad? I love my own father dearly and I know the song but dedicating this to him never occurred to me. Now that Charice did it for her dad - and the way she sang it, looking towards heaven and so full of yearning - it was just perfect.
Charice the person is Charice the artist, and she expresses her
deepest emotions in the most natural way through her singing. We are so
lucky to be on the receiving end of it.
Charice, your extraordinary talent, your heart of gold, your faith in God, and your love for your family make you a wonderful inspiration. Thank you. I hope you find solace in our love and support.

Charice, keep your feet on the ground and your sights on infinity!
I've seen the photos. I've watched the videos. I've read the comments. Congratulations, Charice, for your performance in the F1 Singapore event!
I hope you get some good rest and enjoy Singapore these few days before you fly to Doha, Qatar for your solo concert on September 29 and then on to Las Vegas for the David Foster & Friends on October 1. And then by mid-October, your Asia Pacific tour with DFF!
Traveling across the world and doing what you love best - I'm so happy with how things are turning out for you, and so proud of how much you have achieved at such a young age! I read a post on Facebook by your mom and she is so right (I translated the Tagalog parts for the non-Filipino Chasters):

I cried when I saw this video. Brings back the times... it's now my baby girl's songs that they're singing. Who would have thought that this would happen? BE PATIENT, TRUST IN GOD, AND DREAM HIGH... That's the secret...I pray you continue as you are, Cha, despite all the pressure around you to be different. Keep your feet on the ground and your sights on infinity!

It really does seem so. As a Chaster, it is mainly because of all the goodness David Foster has shown Charice and the way Charice has responded and grown under his musical genius and professional (and personal) guidance.
The sweet: I believe it is something David has been preparing Charice for. I remember in one video - was it an episode of "30 days with Charice"? - David said something like the best part will be when Charice starts telling them what she wants to sing. I also just watched again David's interview at KVRC in 2009 or 2010 and there he said his goal was to help her find her niche.
So David has helped Charice to establish herself on solid ground - artistically, professionally and personally in their business so she can do what she's now about to do - fly high on her own.
The sorrow: We will be missing watching and hearing Charice perform those power ballads as only David can compose and produce. Her voice just really soars high and dives deep in the most beautiful and haunting ways singing those ballads. Like no other.
But then again, she's got decades ahead of her and I'm sure she'll go back to singing them every now and then. After all, she did say ballads are her favorite songs to sing, right?
So this is life - letting go of something really good to reach out for something greater, the way a parent lets a child go his independent way so he can grow into his fullest potential. But the parent never lets him get completely out of sight and the child knows this, knows he can always go back whenever he needs to... or simply wants to.
I'm sure David will always be a mentor to Charice even if he won't be producing songs for her and she won't be part of his concerts anymore. Theirs is a unique collaboration in the music industry that will never fail to move and inspire.
Charice's life and career move on to bigger and more exciting surprises and I hope she holds on to her success formula: pray, dream big, work hard, love her family, friends and fans, be focused (it's an intoxicating and, at the same time, cutthroat world you're in, girl), keep strong in her principles, and, as she tweeted, always be thankful for everything.
Continue sharing your beautiful gift with the world, Cha! Chasters are with you all the way!

Updating (First) Photos & Videos of Charice in David Foster & Friends in Napa Valley
Updates:
As expected, Charice's performance was awesome, amazing, incredible, and whatever other superlatives can be thought of as shared by those who witnessed it live. See how she got the crowd up on stage!
Whether in Napa Valley or not, Chasters were all worked up just the same for Charice's live performance. At the same time, however, there have been a tweet or two of some disappointment. One is, why didn't Charice sing her new songs instead of David Foster's which are old? I think a tweet from eve marie of Charicemania explains it succinctly: It's a David Foster concert in the wine country, featuring Charice, not a solo radio promo. It's appropriate to sing his songs.
Also, I would add, DFF concert-goers love David Foster's songs and they are more than happy to hear these beautiful songs being sung live again by someone who, as David himself expressed, can do them justice.
Another comment was, why the same songs as in the DFF of last year? I think it's because it's the first time for DFF with Charice in Napa Valley so it's but right to assume that for most of the audience, it was their first time to hear her sing those songs (or to hear her sing for that matter). So, don't worry, we can expect a new DFF repertoire when the concert goes back to Las Vegas and to Asia this year.

Another key factor, I think, for the choice of songs is that DFF concert-goers are not Charice's age, to which her new songs are marketed. DFF audience is of an older age bracket and it is exactly to their music preference that her songs today have been chosen to match. For Charice, it was a matter of first winning over this audience (and did she win them) before winning them to her new songs.
Let me clarify though that those whose comments I cited above are far from crabs or haters; they are Chasters who sincerely expressed what they felt, and they felt that way because they only wanted the best for Charice. I mention it here because they are interesting points.
Last thought: Even if I have only seen a sound check of her singing "To Love You More" and a 31-second video of her "I Will Survive", it's mind-blowing how she actually sang them even better than last year which I thought was already awesome! Even if the videos are not of high quality, you can already note how her voice has grown even more beautiful - more mature and fuller. Really, Charice is an unending source of amazement!

July 19: Charice had a tweet party some 12 hours ago. Chasters and even new followers had the time of their lives being replied to by Charice! As we know she's very busy, and that's great for her career, but let's also hope she's getting enough rest. Take care of yourself, Charice! Here are some of the earliest uploaded photos and videos of Charice in the David Foster & Friends concert held today in the Napa Valley Festival del Sole at the Robert Mondavi Winery.
Videos with best video and audio quality I have found so far:
